JEANNETTE VENINGA

Writing is a central theme in Jeannette Veninga’s work. Interviews, research, organising, managing, communication and meetings are part of a creative writing process. Recently, the public sector receives a lot of professional attention. Her specialisation is focusing on urban development. ‘Fascination for a certain theme or person, a specific development or problem within the bigger structure of a city forms my drive’, she says. The question ‘why do things happen the way they happen’, comes up when it concerns issues where citizens meet governmental bodies. Jeannette Veninga has travelled through Australia, America, Africa and Europe and she has worked in cities like Accra, Nairobi, Paris, Detroit and Hamburg. In the Netherlands she worked in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Den Haag, Maastricht, Groningen and Tilburg.
